The Saturday Printable Routine for Ages 3 to 7
Saturday mornings with young kids can feel wide open. Too open. The tablet is right there. The coffee is still brewing. And someone is already asking for a snack before anyone has brushed their teeth.
A Saturday printable routine gives you a small, repeatable structure. Not a full curriculum. Not a 100-page binder. Just a clear plan for one sitting, plus pages you can fridge for the rest of the week.
Printurday is built around that idea. Here is how to run it at home.
Why Saturday works
Weekdays are packed. School drop-offs, errands, dinner, bath time. Saturday is different. Parents often want something calm and screen-light, but they also need twenty minutes to drink coffee while it is still hot.
A printable routine works because it is physical, finite, and easy to reset next week. You print a few pages. You sit at the table together. When the sitting is done, you stick the rest on the fridge or tuck them in a folder. No logins. No app updates. No guilt about unfinished workbooks.
That is the whole Printurday model: one Saturday sitting, then the rest of the week on paper you already printed.
What a Saturday sitting looks like
Every Printurday pack includes a Saturday sitting with four pieces:
- A parent card with the week’s plan in plain language
- A color page for both age lanes
- A cut page for scissor practice
- One game you can play at the table
Ages 3 to 4 get simpler lines and bigger shapes. Ages 5 to 7 get slightly more detail in the same PDF. Siblings share one pack. You pick the lane that fits each kid.
Plan for about twenty minutes at the table. Younger kids may finish faster. Older kids might want to redo a game or help a sibling cut. That is fine. The sitting is a starting point, not a timer drill.
Step by step: your first Saturday
Friday night or Saturday morning: Print the Saturday sitting pages on US Letter paper. Color or grayscale both work. You do not need a fancy printer.
At the table: Read the parent card first. It tells you what is in the sitting and how the pages connect to the month’s theme. September is orchard themed, with apples, fall colors, and nature activities.
Color page: Let each child work in their lane. Sit nearby. Ask simple questions about colors or shapes if you want, but you do not need to teach a lesson.
Cut page: Scissors out. Trash bowl ready. This builds fine motor skills without a workbook lecture.
Game: Play once together. Then let them replay if they ask. Games in the pack are short and table-friendly.
After the sitting: Clip the weekday pages to the fridge, or stack them where kids can grab one after school. That is the “fridge the rest” habit Printurday parents use all week.
Two age lanes, one PDF
If you have a 4 year old and a 6 year old, you know the fight over “whose turn on the iPad” is real. Two lanes in one PDF means you print once and both kids have work at their level.
The Little lane (ages 3 to 4) favors big shapes, simple counting, and short tracing. The Big lane (ages 5 to 7) adds more lines, harder mazes, and slightly longer games. Same theme. Same Saturday. Less comparison stress.
What you get each month
Every Printurday pack has 52 pages. That covers four to five Saturday sittings plus weekday pages: more color and cut sheets, letters and numbers, mazes, I-spy, crafts, and an outdoor or kitchen card.
September’s pack is orchard themed. If you want activity ideas tied to apples and fall, read our Apple Orchard Printable Activities post.

Keep it simple
You do not need to finish all 52 pages in one weekend. You do not need to laminate everything. You do not need a color printer.
You need a printer, US Letter paper, and twenty minutes on Saturday. The pack gives you the plan so you are not scrolling Pinterest at 7 a.m.
